Cell C has put the kiCk into the CowParade, the world’s largest public
art event! Cell C is a presenting sponsor of CowParade South Africa. This
sponsorship is a natural extension to the successful “Art in the City”
initiative that was launched by Cell C in 2002, and is a creative way
to promote art and culture in South Africa, as well as to raise much-needed
funds for children with cancer.
“This initiative concentrates
on showcasing the talent of the local artists, each of whom has taken
it upon themselves to make a difference in their lives, as well as to
better the lives of the children who are affected by cancer.” - Talaat
Laham, Cell C’s chairman and CEO.
kulula.com helps cows to fly! As a presenting sponsor of CowParade South
Africa, kulula.com has generously supplied transport for the cowhands
and aims to raise over R1 million by April next year via various fund-raising
exercises that will run in conjunction with the CowParade.
kulula.com is aware
of the pressing need to assist underprivileged children in South Africa,
particularly where they are suffering from a life threatening disease.
This is one of the reasons why kulula.com’s corporate social responsibility
programme for 2004/5 will focus predominantly on CHOC Childhood Cancer
Foundation South Africa, particularly via their involvement in CowParade.
kulula.com has already been exceedingly generous in inviting several of
the children of CHOC to spend an enormously fun day at Ushaka Marine World
“We are jumping on
the CowParade wagon, hooves and all, so to speak. Look out for our funky
kulula cash cow that is begging to be filled with donations from our fans.
We are also planning on painting something a little bigger than these
life-size cows so keep an eye on the skies above for an awesome piece
of art!” - Nadine Prinsloo, marketing manager for kulula.com.
