Title: Armoured Cow (CPESA 2019)
Location: Private owner, Johannesburg
Artist: Geoff Bell; Harold Pattle & Steve Tegner
Sponsor: CowParade and The SA National Museum for Military History (NFI)

The National Museum for Military History (NFI) workshop team wanted to combine their passion for military history and art, hence came up with the Armoured Cow. The word is a play on both the “armoured animal”, the Armadillo as well as an armoured car, which is one of the many military modes of transport that is displayed at the Museum.

This cow was sold by Stephan Welz in association with Sotheby's auction on Wednesday 29 June 2005 at the Nedbank Head Office, 135 Rivonia Road, Sandton. Proceeds have gone to CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation to aid their plight in "Keeping more than Hope Alive". Please read the Auction press release should you want more information about the auction.
