The cow is part of an African life … a symbol of wealth. It unifies man with his ancestors and God. It harmonises life. For South African democracy, the cow (now not a symbol for spirituality) is made of flexible materials – i.e. copper and aluminium, to express the cultural diversity of South Africa. The transparency of the techniques applied expresses that it is everyone’s business to protect and enjoy that democracy.
