Comic strips are universally understood as the words are only secondary to the conversation in the picture. The artist was inspired to write a romantic comic strip by his interest in the lobola tradition(s). He jests about the price of beauty and love and the sometimes unattainable goals that lobola requires, hence utilises a magical force to help realize the idyllic ending.

This cow was sold by Stephan Welz in association with Sotheby's auction on Wednesday 29 June 2005 at the Nedbank Head Office, 135 Rivonia Road, Sandton.
