The cow depicts three portraits that showcase different race groups as a symbol of the Rainbow nation. Bounded in Southern Africa and its beautiful landscapes with the Drakensberg mountains and permanent rivers, where the scenic beauty is unparalleled. Deep valleys, steep cliffs and waterfalls on winding rivers and undulating hills which roll down to a stunning coastline.
.
The cow also depicts the elder woman who symbolises the power of knowledge in the community of South Africa. The motto of the coat of arms is: !ke e: /xarra //ke (Pronunciation of !ke e: /xarra //ke), written in the Khoisan language of the /Xam people, literally meaning: Unity in Diversity. .
.
The inspiration for Senzo’s design was the history and the value of the aesthetics and democracy in South Africa.
