- Cedril Nukeri
Cedril Nukeri grew up and was educated in Soweto. Academically he started art in 2001 at Funda Community College and completed a diploma in fine arts in 2003. Currently, he is an artist in residence at Funda, taking part in a teachers training course.
During 2001, he got the opportunity to work and exhibit with artists of both international and national stature. He participated in the Red Bull art competition as well as in the mural painting workshop by Bihailu Bizabib from Ethiopia, and took part in the Saachi & Saachi workshop in the logo-designing programme for a T.V advert. In 2002, he was part of the workshop of papermaking and printmaking run by the late Durant Sihlali. There he experimented with calligraphy, linocut and drypoint mediums.
In 2003 he was in the printmaking workshop which was facilitated by the late Nhlanhla Xaba, where he also explored calligraphy and dry point. In 2004, he participated in the Roche and Phelophepha health train art competition and received 3rd prize.
